Title: Technician - Purification

Amman Mineral Industri has an Electro Refinery at the Sumbawa Island in Indonesia, which converts copper anode with purity of 99.5% into copper cathode with purity of 99.99% (LME ‘A’ grade) by removing the impurities through the electrolysis process.
This role is responsible for electrolyte purification at the Electro Refinery unit of Amman Mineral Industri to maintain required parameters of the electrolyte under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor. This involves electrowinning of the electrolyte withdrawn from the electrolyte circulation system in in the electrolyte purification (liberator) area to reduce the copper content from electrolyte and recycling back the treated electrolyte to the main circulation system. Criticality is to maintain all process parameters for the electro winning process, minimise impurities level in electrolyte and maintain the copper content in the electrolyte as per desired specification.
Role
- To undertake electrolyte purification at the Electro Refinery unit of Amman Mineral Industri and achievement of all process parameter.
- To recycle black copper of required specifications to the smelter on time.
- To learn continuously towards improvement of technical competencies and multiskilling.
- Achieving budgeted copper recovery through the electrolyte purification (liberation) process
- Optimising utilisation of consumables vis a vis consumption norms to minimise inventory and keep cost of production within budget
Requirements
- Diploma Engineer/ Trade certificate in Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Process Engineering
- Experience in refinery of process plants (3-5 years with Diploma or 7-10 years with certificate)
- Domain knowledge of electro refining processes
- Appreciation of maintenance practices
- Appreciation of quality systems
