Specialist ERP System (PP & QM)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, configuration, and enhancement of SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) modules. The role supports end-to-end manufacturing and quality processes — from production order execution to inspection and release — ensuring system reliability, compliance, and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily functional support for SAP PP and QM modules, including production orders, confirmations, inspection lots, and results recording.
  • Configure and maintain master data such as material masters, work centers, routings, BOMs, inspection plans, and quality info records.
  • Support shop floor integration and production execution activities within SAP.
  • Manage inspection types, usage decisions, and defect recording to ensure product quality tracking.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality departments to improve process automation and standardization.
  • Analyze and design system enhancements or reports to meet evolving business needs.
  • Conduct testing, documentation, and end-user training for new functionalities or rollouts.
  • Ensure integration between PP, QM, and other modules (MM, PM, & FI/CO).
  • Work closely with ABAP developers for functional specifications and custom developments.
  • Support system upgrades, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in SAP PP and/or QM configuration and support (preferably S/4HANA).
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Production planning processes (discrete/process manufacturing, capacity planning, MRP, order settlement).
  • Quality management processes (inspection lot processing, quality notifications, results recording, and usage decisions).
  • Experience with integration points between PP/QM and MM, PM, FI/CO, or EWM.
  • Familiarity with shop floor systems, batch management, and serial number management.
  • Basic understanding of ABAP debugging and Fiori apps for PP/QM.
  • SAP certification in PP or QM is an advantage.
  • Industry experience in mining, gold processing preferred

Production/Technical/Projects Part 1

ERP Support Provide technical and business process support in four major Ellipse stream in user enquires, problem solving and problem investigation. Act as the liaison with the Mincom service provider to ensure that all work orders are lodged with the Call Center, error documentation and trace files are provided and that work orders are tested and closed in a timely fashion. This includes liaising with the Ellipse System Administrators to ensure that they have fully tested fixes, reports and are involved in all aspects of Ellipse administration. Review system development requests that impact the Ellipse system and determine the most appropriate business process to ensure user requirements are met. Oversee the technical support of the PTAMNT E-business solution, Mincom Axis Connect and liaise with software provider to development new e-business technical strategies. Perform monitoring to provide system availability according to agreed service levels. Manage a work order reporting system to track and report on all open work and projects and provide job estimates, track costs and report periodically on results. Manage support of end-user reporting tools, e.g. Brio Enterprise. Work with Business Analyst to review other ERP software package solutions, evaluate ability to meet business requirement and develop interface and implementation strategies. Document all new Ellipse sub applications and Ellipse related application and follow corporate development standards. Follow strict software change control procedures and prepare and test all code changes and ensure SOX Compliances Non ERP Support Provide technical and business process support in user enquires and problems investigation. (Currently there are 127 In-House applications and 44 COTS). Act as the liaison with the vendor service provider (AMT, MineMan, TTC Klinge, Inhouse developer..etc) to ensure that all work orders are lodged, error documentation and trace files are provided and that work orders are tested and closed in a timely fashion. This includes liaising with the System Administrators to ensure that they have fully tested fixes, reports and are involved in all aspects of Application administration. Oversee the technical support of the PTAMNT-Inhouse Applications and third Party Application. Perform monitoring to provide system availability according to agreed service levels Manage a work order reporting system to track and report on all open work and provide job estimates, track costs and report periodically on results. Analyse current applications issues and problems, provide feedback to Business Solution team for applications/business process improvement. Follow strict software change control procedures and ensure that every mine worker assigned to his supervision prepare and test all code changes.
