Description: 

Responsible for the planning, management, and supervision of electrical maintenance, repair, and improvement activities for Primary Crusher, Overland Conveyor, Milling/Grinding, Flotation, as well as Siemens GMD, VSD systems from various manufacturers, Filter Plant, and High Voltage Breakers (33 kV and below). Ensure all systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to support production processes.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage and supervise electrical maintenance activities for Primary Crusher, Overland Conveyor, Milling/Grinding, Flotation, Filter Plant, and High Voltage Breakers (33 kV and below).
  • Lead maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities for Siemens GMD and VSD systems from various manufacturers.
  • Ensure the reliability and availability of critical electrical systems, including switchgear, high voltage breakers, motors, transformers, and protection and control systems.
  • Develop and implement shutdown plans and preventive maintenance schedules for critical electrical systems, including high voltage breakers (33 kV).
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of electrical system failures, including fault analysis of VSDs, motors, electrical panels, flotation electrical systems, and high voltage breakers.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractors and internal teams involved in electrical maintenance activities.
  • Manage the procurement and utilization of critical spare parts and electrical materials.
  • Ensure the implementation of SOPs, JSA, and HIRADC for all electrical work activities.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and HSE teams to ensure all electrical work complies with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare monthly reports on electrical system performance, downtime, and improvement recommendations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 10–12 years of experience in electrical maintenance for fixed plant operations, preferably in mining or heavy industry; including 5 years in a Senior Supervisory or leadership role within maintenance or plant technical support functions; or at least 3 years in similar role as Superintendent/ Section Head
  • Proven experience with Siemens GMD, VSD systems from various manufacturers, Flotation, Filter Plant, and High Voltage Breakers (33 kV and below).
  • Ability to approve and control the execution of electrical maintenance activities within assigned operational areas.
  • Skill in assigning and directing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities for Siemens GMD and VSD systems.
  • Ability to enforce reliability, availability, and operating standards for critical electrical systems and equipment.
  • Knowledge and ability to approve shutdown plans and preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems, including high‑voltage equipment.
  • Skill in validating root cause analysis (RCA) outcomes and authorizing corrective and preventive actions for electrical failures.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and evaluate contractor and internal workforce performance for electrical maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge to approve the allocation and use of critical spare parts and electrical materials according to maintenance plans.
  • Ability to enforce compliance with SOPs, JSA, and HIRADC, including the authority to stop unsafe or non‑compliant electrical work.
  • Skill in coordinating cross‑functionally with Production, Engineering, and HSE teams to resolve electrical safety and quality issues.
  • Ability to review and endorse electrical performance reports and recommend improvement initiatives to management.
  • Skill in using CMMS systems (SAP, Pronto, Maximo, or equivalent) to plan, monitor, and report electrical maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
