Some of your duties will include:

To lead and manage mechanical maintenance activities related to equipment rebuild, overhaul, fabrication, and lubrication systems within the fixed process plant environment, ensuring high equipment reliability, safety, cost effectiveness, and operational availability in accordance with engineering standards, company policies, and HSE requirements.

Some of your duties will include:

•            Lead and manage mechanical maintenance activities related to rebuild and overhaul of process plant equipment to ensure reliability, availability, and optimal performance.

•            Oversee workshop rebuild and fabrication activities, including welding, machining, fitting, and structural fabrication, to ensure quality and compliance with engineering specifications.

•            Manage and continuously improve the lubrication management system, including lubrication practices, oil analysis, contamination control, and OEM lubrication standards.

•            Ensure effective implementation of reliability engineering practices, including RCFA, MTBF analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce equipment failures.

•            Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to support maintenance execution, fabrication works, and equipment refurbishment.

•            Lead, coach, and develop multi-disciplinary maintenance teams covering rebuild, fabrication, and lubrication functions.

•            Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance activities to support plant operational requirements and minimize downtime.

•            Manage maintenance systems and administration through CMMS, including maintenance planning, budgeting, cost control, and spare parts management.

•            Prepare and present technical reports and maintenance KPI performance to management.

•            Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, environmental requirements, and permit-to-work systems across workshop and plant activities.

•            Implement and enforce LOTO, risk assessment, and job safety analysis to maintain a safe working environment.

•            Coordinate site-wide mechanical maintenance support across mining, utilities, and smelter areas as required.

•            Other duties as assigned.

Authorities (The right to make decisions or take actions in accordance with responsibilities and position within the organization)

•            Authorize and control mechanical maintenance activities related to rebuild and overhaul of process plant equipment.

•            Approve workshop rebuild and fabrication work methods, execution plans, and quality acceptance based on engineering standards.

•            Decide and enforce lubrication strategies, lubrication schedules, and oil analysis programs in line with OEM and best practice standards.

•            Initiate and approve reliability improvement actions, including RCFA recommendations and continuous improvement programs.

•            Approve the use and interpretation of engineering drawings and technical specifications for maintenance and fabrication works.

•            Allocate, deploy, and manage manpower resources across rebuild, fabrication, and lubrication disciplines.

•            Approve maintenance work plans, schedules, and priority settings in alignment with operational requirements.

•            Authorize CMMS-related maintenance planning activities, maintenance budgets, cost control measures, and spare parts usage within delegated limits.

•            Validate and submit maintenance reports and KPI results to management.

•            Enforce compliance with HSE, environmental, and permit-to-work requirements, including the authority to stop unsafe work.

•            Approve the implementation of LOTO, risk assessments, and job safety analysis for mechanical maintenance activities.

•            Coordinate and approve site-wide mechanical maintenance support activities when required.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

•            Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; Master’s degree or relevant professional certification will be considered an advantage.

•            Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance within a Fixed Process Plant or Concentrator environment; including 5 years in a Senior Supervisory or leadership role; or at least 3 years in similar role as Superintendent/ Section Head

•            Proven experience handling the following:

  • Process plant equipment rebuild and overhaul
  • Workshop rebuild and fabrication
  • Lubrication management system

•            Experience in site-wide support (mining, utilities, smelter) is a strong advantage

  • Knowledge of rebuild and overhaul practices for process plant equipment to meet reliability and performance targets.
  • Skill in managing workshop rebuild and mechanical fabrication activities, including welding, machining, fitting, and structural fabrication.
  • Ability to implement effective lubrication management systems, including lubrication best practices, oil analysis, contamination control, and adherence to OEM standards.
  • Knowledge and application of reliability engineering principles such as RCFA, MTBF analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and technical specifications in maintenance and fabrication work.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide, coach, and manage multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
  • Ability to plan and schedule maintenance activities, set priorities, and minimize plant downtime.
  • Skill in using CMMS systems for maintenance planning, budgeting, cost control, and spare parts management.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and analyze maintenance KPIs to support management decision‑making.
  • Knowledge of HSE, environmental, and permit‑to‑work requirements, with the ability to enforce compliance in workshop and plant operations.
  • Ability to implement LOTO, risk assessments, and job safety analysis to ensure safe execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate mechanical maintenance support across mining, utilities, and smelter operations.
  • Skill in utilizing CMMS platforms (SAP, Pronto, Maximo, or equivalent) for planning, monitoring, and reporting maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
